My love for the technique of mapping is such that I often think of ways to map my own life. For this project I painted a map of all places and routes that are close to my heart. For a long time I have wanted to test acrylic painting and finally gave it a shot this time. I realised that the places I wanted to include are spread out along a line from Northern Germany to Stockholm, so I decided to deviate from the rule of north pointing up.

I included all important placed with the names of friends and family who live there and the common routes in between. I also visualised the size of the cities (black circle) and their subjective significance to me (orange circles).

In the ocean, on land and in the sun/compass I added some memories and along a few routes the typical travel time.
